and R Instruments' Software
|
| RESPAC | A resistivity interpretation program with forward and reverse modeling of soundings. The Backus-Gilbert technique is used for automated inversion. |
| GRAVMOD | A gravity modeling program that calculates the anomaly from infinitely-long horizontal polygons, finite-length horizontal polygons, vertical polygons, and spheres. The calcualtions can be at selected spot locations, along profiles of any length and orientation, or over a horizontal rectangular surface. Calculations can also be conducted over, under, or within bodies in the model. For profile calculations, observed gravity can be entered and displayed along with the model gravity. The user can then modify the model to improve the fit or print the results. Surface cacluations are written to a disk file for contouring by an appropriate package, such as Golden Software's Surfer program. The program can also automatically invert an observed profile into a single-interface model such as might represent an alluvium to bedrock contact. Included in GRAVMOD is a terrain correction program for the Hammer or Sloping Wedge techniques. It generates a file for automatic entry into the program GPAC. |
| GPAC | A gravity field data reduction program. The field data may be entered in sements as they become available. Data reduction includes meter calibration factors, earth tides and drift corrections. Report-ready tables are made from the raw data, observed gravity, free-air gravity, and the Bouguer gravity. Provision has been made for the multiple base stations, tares in the drift, multiple Bouguer-slab densitites, and terrain corrections. The porgram also finds the absolute gravity at any temporary base stations inferred by their ties to bases for which absolute gravity is already known. Processed data can be stored to disk files and/or output to printer. The porgrams can also produce earth-tide tables and/or graphs. |
| GTIDE | A Gravity earth tide program |
| MAGMODEL | A magnetic modeling program that finds the total field and vertical magnetic gradient for models constructed of infinitely long or finite length horizontal polygons or from spheres. The calculations can be for spot locations, along profiles of any orientation, or over a grid on a horizontal plain. |
|
All programs are available for Windows 95, Windows 98, and Windows NT. They are also available for use with M.S. DOS. The Windows versions are porgrammed in Visual Basic 5.0 and 6.0. The DOS versions are programmed in Professional Quick Basic. Any suggestions for new instruments or programs would be greatly appreciated. |
